It's the Weekend | Number Ten

The days are flying by.  I cannot believe how quickly time is moving. I am officially 32 weeks pregnant. I managed to injure my right foot somehow and I've been limping around for a week and a half. I'm still not totally sure what I did but I'm ready to not be big and pregnant and also limping around everywhere. Seriously. Come on, foot!

I still need to blog about our trip to Estes. I need to actually work on getting the little babe's room all ready to go. We still have some house projects to complete. I'd really like to get our garden going. There's a lot to be done and I just don't have the energy lately to do it. Welcome to the 3rd trimester everyone!

But, it's the weekend. Hallelujah! Here are a few things I've been reading this week, along with a Mother's Day wish list, and some great books for moms that I've been devouring. Enjoy.

Why are our kids so miserable?

Secrets of people who are always full of energy.

It's nice to have less stuff.

Sugar is in everything these days. Here's 30 days of meals you can eat during a sugar detox.

If you need help with a cleaning schedule. I love stuff like this. Also,  here are some lazy people cleaning hacks.

I am planning on making this for dinner sometime this week.

Mother's Day will be here before we know it. Here is what's on my current wish list: Wish #1, Wish #2, Wish #3 (Charcoal) , Wish #4.

If you're looking for some books for moms, I highly recommend: Long Days of Small Things: Motherhood as a Spiritual Discipline, The Magic of Motherhood: The Good Stuff, the Hard Stuff, and Everything In Between, The First Forty Days: The Essential Art of Nourishing the New Mother.

Have a great weekend!

Baby Marin's Wish List

It's no secret that there are a million baby things to buy in this world. Some of them you need, some of them you want. I find myself enjoying dressing my child more than myself. Most of my days are spent in yoga pants while on maternity leave.

  1. Baby Jives Silver Star Cloud Mobile
  2. Little Hip Squeaks Onyx Strip Tunic Dress

Wish List Wednesday: Long Hair Envy

I've never been one to have crazy long hair. Once mine gets anywhere near that point I decide to treat it unkindly or chop it all off in a swift moment of sheer boredom. I chopped off my locks not too long ago and I tolerate it. I miss my long-ish hair. And pony-tails. And not having to do it every single day. But, I chopped it all off to give it a fighting chance because my hair was slightly damaged and I needed a fresh start. It's growing, ever so slowly, but growing still. Someday I would love to have long, healthy locks. We shall see.

Grow hair, grow.

Wish List Wednesday: A Little Bit of Everything

The following items really don't have much in common with one another. There is no theme. These are just things I'm crushing on this week.

Wish List Wednesday: A Little Bit of Everything

Succulents. I want to put these all over the inside and outside of my house. I think they take house plants to a whole new level and I would have a harder time killing them off by accident.

I've been majorly obsessed with a more bohemian vibe for our bedroom. I know originally I was all about the yellow and grey theme but I might venture elsewhere. I plan on removing our headboard and using a tapestry on the wall in place of that. One like this....

I want to get more into yoga once again. Since joining the gym, I've tried just about every class but yoga. I'm planning on trying their hot yoga this Thursday and I'm looking really forward to it. Someday,  a really nice Manduka mat would be wonderful.

I also would really love to get my hands on a new pair of Toms this summer. My lovely husband bought me the black sparkly ones two years ago and I've just about worn right through them. When I wear them, I feel like I'm getting away with wearing sparkly slippers to work. Win, win. I really like these crochet Toms.

We are already half way through the week. I've been feeling a bit under the weather, but things are looking up. If I survive the work day today, I begin 5 glorious days off. I plan on owning the garage sale like it's nobodies business. There is also a trip to the farmer's market in my near future. Life is good.

Wish List Wednesday: Outdoor Spaces

We have been homeowners for almost two years now. I've spent a lot of time decorating the inside of our home, but the outside really still needs some loving. Actually, it needs A LOT of loving. Every time we work on the yard I feel like we are only making a dent in everything that needs to be done. Before we bought the house it was a rental and was never shown any yard love. At all. Not even a little. Our sod is uneven (what sod is actually still there) and trees need trimmed. There's really no landscaping of any sort and the second I seem to make progress it all grows back to where it was before. This year, one of our goals is to show our yard some love. We'd like to at least get the front yard to a place where we no longer are the "bad, young hooligans who can't keep their yard nice" on the street. I want the outside to reflect the inside. Curated and cared for.

It's no secret that I'm obsessed with Pinterest, as I'm sure many of you are as well. Here is some inspiration to brighten up you Wednesday morning. Now if only I wasn't stuck at work all and day and could go out and enjoy a space like one of these....

Wish List Wednesday: Home Edition

I am always thinking of new ways to spruce up our home. I'm ever so slowly beginning to work through each room in hope of getting rid of so many things. I desire a clean slate. Something new. Something fresh. Many of the knick knacks and decor I possess, I've had since my college days (which is further away than I realize. Almost four years! Holy cow!) I'm constantly falling asleep at night creating little decorating lists in my mind....a new set of sheets, a new shower curtain, could I paint that table? Etc, etc, etc. I love having a home that people can hang out at, play music in, and be a community in. Decorating and keeping a nice home is only a small piece of that picture.

So, without further a-due...Wish-List Wednesday: Home Edition

A vintage sheet set from Etsy.  This will go perfectly with a quilt I have for spring/summer.

I've been crushing on this quilt for a long time.

I love the pop of color on this shower curtain. It would make early mornings so much brighter.

And just a few wishes for me....

These Tumbleweed Sunglasses are top notch.

Book Nerd: A Wish list

It is no secret that I love books. I would spend my entire paycheck on them if we didn't have to pay our mortgage every month. Here is what's on my wish list.

I've obviously been thinking through a number of things....Travel, healthy eating, getting out the cubicle and actually doing a job I adore, and a few biographies of people that inspire me.

My current read is this book. It's challenging me to really think about all of our stuff, all of the belongings that we might not really need in the long run. Reading this makes me want to deep clean our lives and get rid of a bunch of things that have piled up over the last couple of years.
