Beer: In Black and White

We are blessed to live in a such a wonderful community of people. Many we have only met in the past year, some we have known for a decade or more, and some are new additions as of this very evening. These are good people. Loving people. People that understand the importance of coming together in community and just being with each other. This night, we met over beer. This beer was brewed by the hands of men in our little community, with care, patience, and love for the art of creating something of worth that can bring people together.

Pumpkin Ale and chicken wings brought all of us together on this November night and we are blessed. Very blessed for each and every person in this room and the hands that prepared this evening for us. We toasted to life, brewing, and people.

A Toast

Even looking at these photos, I realize how lucky we are to be in this very place. I have never felt so part of something like this before. Community is something we truly cannot live without.

A Short Getaway: Estes Park

We have been hit hard this week. My family was devastated with some heart breaking news. Our bank account was also compromised. Some lucky person in Virginia somewhere got away with all of our money in our bank account and we are currently left staring at a nice, big negative number in our account until the bank settles the dispute.

Needless to say, we needed to take a quick break from reality: Estes Park.

We live in beautiful Colorado and never really give ourselves the opportunity to embrace the mountains and nature in all of its glorious beauty. We got in the car and drove to Estes. It was a much need breath away from all of the stresses and situations of our week and we were able to just REST.

Estes Park, CO
The Best Pizza Ever. It's called the "Faceless Italian." Vegetarian Pepperoni, Banana Peppers, and Cream Cheese.  Never had cream cheese on a pizza? It's horrible for you, but I promise, you won't be sorry.

I bought a new idea notebook.

I find more and more how important it is to take some time and just breath. Even though we feel like we've been hit on all sides this week, God is still God, we still have each other, and that pizza at Poppy's is there if I need to devour one.

And so, we endure.

For Today: Keep Moving

This about sums up this week.

Book Nerd: A Wish list

It is no secret that I love books. I would spend my entire paycheck on them if we didn't have to pay our mortgage every month. Here is what's on my wish list.

I've obviously been thinking through a number of things....Travel, healthy eating, getting out the cubicle and actually doing a job I adore, and a few biographies of people that inspire me.

My current read is this book. It's challenging me to really think about all of our stuff, all of the belongings that we might not really need in the long run. Reading this makes me want to deep clean our lives and get rid of a bunch of things that have piled up over the last couple of years.
