Currently Clicking: Week #16

Each and every week, I gather links of all of the places I have been perusing in the great, grand internet. There are plenty of people out there doing big things and small things. Some of these are practical, some are inspiring. This week, I am contemplating the amount of grass we have in our massive yard, obsessing over FITBIT with other people, dreaming about house tours and DIY tiles, and anticipating my first order from Stichfix to be on my doorstep sometime today.

  1. Eye Candy: 11 Inspiring Yards That Are Grass Free.   We live in a pretty hot, dry climate. I am always shocked by how much green grass is everywhere and how many gallons of water it takes to water it each year. Our yard is way too big for us. Living grass free would be awesome and also better for the environment and our bank account.
  2. It's no secret that I love my FITBIT. I hope to do a post on that soon. David Sedaris recently wrote a piece about it as well. He takes so many steps! He makes me realize that I should probably up my game!
  3. This house tour is my dream house tour. I love the dark walls contrasting with the white walls. I am a sucker for subway tile. The wallpaper in the entry way is what dreams are made of. Check out At Home With Sarah Brown. So good.
  4. Here is another game changer. Make a Patterned Floor With Linoleum Tile. I know I said linoleum. This is incredible.
  5. My first shipment from StichFix should be arriving today! Yippee! I can't wait to try on my first round of clothing that has been hand picked just for me. Here's some more information about how it all works!

Wish List Wednesday: The Maxi Dress

Summer is here obviously in full force. I spend most of my days trying to dress for work in a way that a) Covers all of my tattoos :( b) Looks business casual and c) Keeps me cool once I leave the confines of my air conditioned work place. Those are a lot of situations to compete with. I'm either freezing at work or sweating like crazy on the drive home.

My new obsession: Maxi Dresses and Skirts

You can dress them up with a blazer or sweater for work. Add some funky jewelry and you can't go wrong walking the halls of your place of work. Once you clock out, you can easily peel the sweater or blazer off and head to a BBQ on a back porch and drink a beer. It's a win win.

I'm on a hunt currently to all of the thrift stores around town for maxi skirts and dresses. I need them cheap because frankly we aren't made of money. The search continues!

Wish List Wednesday (On Thursday. Oops!) : Accessories

I've come to the conclusion that a lady can never have too many accessories. I've had my ears pierced for years, but it wasn't until about a year ago that I actually started wearing earrings again. I'm obsessed. When I forget to put on earring, I feel like something is missing throughout my whole day. A wonderfully, sturdy, yet stylish bag also never hurt anyone. Here is my wish-list for the week: Accessories Edition.

Truly Gritty and Gorgeous Bag by ModCloth
Earthly Wooden Teardrop Earrings by Roots and Feathers
Gold Chevron Earrings By Mooreaseal on Etsy

Happy Thursday. My weekend actually begins right now.

Away

I've been away... really I've just neglected this poor little blog. I have a lot of catching up to do.

To begin with: A Weekend Recap

Friday:
My wonderful husband and I played a show in Greeley at this amazing venue called Zoe's. I couldn't believe that a place as rad as that could be located in Greeley, CO! It was such an encouraging show, full of good community and artistic inspiration. We got to play with a lovely lady, Annie Brooks. She was so wonderful.
I love walking away from a night of music with so much inspiration and encouragement.

That being said, I have so many sweet ideas for some merchandise that will hopefully become a part of my shows! More on that later...I'm exctied!! Tshirts, buttons, stickers, a new record in the works!!!

Saturday:
My awesome sister and I met up for an afternoon of thrifting. We found a couple of absolutely amazing stores that I didn't know existed in Old Town. The first is right on College and benefits local charities. I found a dress for work and a red purse that holds more than enough of my world in it. We then went to another store called Clothes Mentor. I thought that I had died and gone to professional clothing heaven. It is all previously worn, inexpensive, and purely awesome. I walked away with a few more dresses for work. Then we went to a few flea markets and I found an amazing suitcase to put all of my merchandise for shows in.

Such a good day.

Sunday:
I spent most of the day enjoying rain, drinking apple cider, and working on my 2010 planner.
