Currently Clicking: Week #22

Each and every week, I gather links of all of the places I have been perusing in the great, grand internet. There are plenty of people out there doing big things and small things. Some of these are practical, some are inspiring. This week I am drooling over another home tour and I'm super excited about a particular novel. I stumbled across a list of things to do in New York City. I am still dreaming of smaller, sustainable living. I am really liking the idea of: work hard, work smart. To top it all off, I've added a tutorial for us shorter haired gals.

  1. I love absolutely everything about this home tour: the dark walls, open staircase, wall paper, exposed wood beams. All of it is awesome.
  2. It's no secret to most that I am a big nerd when it comes to the X-files. To add to my nerdom, I found out that Gillian Anderson, aka Scully, wrote a sic-fi novel. I might have to get this. And nerd out.
  3. We have dreams of traveling more in a few years when our child(ren) are older. I've never been to New York City and would love to spend a few days there. What if you only have one day? Here's are 15 things to do in New York City in just one day.
  4. I still can't get enough of the idea of living in a smaller, more sustainable home. I hate sitting here typing this surrounded by all of our STUFF and daydreaming about a simple life and simpler mortgage. Here are 10 Sustainable Homes That Will Have You Itching For A Simpler Life.
  5. I like to get stuff done. I am generally way too busy. Here are 7 Things You Need To Stop Doing To Be More Productive, Back By Science. Everything about this article is so great. I am all for the naps as well. Work hard, work smart.
  6. I need this tutorial in my life. How to: Beach Waves for Short Hair. I love this look.

Each and every week, I gather links of all of the places I have been perusing in the great, grand internet. There are plenty of people out there doing big things and small things. Some of these are practical, some are inspiring. This week I realize that I always need to eat more salads and figure out how to eat healthy on a budget. I am also drooling over a house tour, wondering how you know a trend is truly over, dreaming of a peach dish to make, thinking about what it means to separate work from motherhood and whether or not is possible, and reminding myself about the reasons we all have to let go of our past.

  1.  I always need to eat more salad. Here are 5 Tips for Making a Week's Worth of Salads on a Sunday.
  2. Trends come and go. My ever changing hair over the years should probably be a sign of that. How do you know if a trend is done and over with? How do you know if a trend is officially over?
  3. I am completely in love with this house tour. They make living with two children in a 1100 square foot house actually seem doable. I love the back yard space and the flooring throughout the house. I am becoming more and more ready to get our house on the market and find a new place to call home.
  4. We always need tips on healthy eating on a budget. This post has some great tips to keep in mind, especially when aiming for a whole food, plant based diet. Also, might I add her grilled peaches and sweet cream with crunchy bits looks so darn delicious.
  5. Now that I am a mother, even more of this post rings true: 10 Things Women Like To Do Alone.
  6. One of my goals someday, hopefully, is to have the ability to work from home or something that looks somewhat like that, in a job that is creative and challenging. Here is a great post about working from home for entrepreneurs.  But on the flip side, here is another point of view of being a work at home mom. Both of these links were seen at Shutterbean and I love her list posts so very much. As a mom and a person in the work world, can we every truly find balance between the two? Are we meant to?
  7. And lastly, a good reminder: 10 Reasons to Let Go of Your Past.

Weekly Lovelies: Currently Clicking Week #9

Every week, I gather links of all of the places I have been perusing in the great, grand internet. There are plenty of people out there doing big things and small things. Some of these are practical, some are inspiring. I have spent the last few days at home sick as a dog with a kid that has been under the weather as well. This marks the first sickness since I was pregnant. Not fun. Not fun at all. But, here are some links to boost my mood and cause me to think about something other than the fact that I'm supposed to sing at a conference tomorrow and don't know if I can because I've been so sick. Ugh.

  3. I'm seriously crushing on this Modern Bohemian House Tour.  And this Mid-Century Modern House Tour.
  4. I recently became a mom. I have the battle scares to prove it. Some of them will probably never disappear, but they are a constant reminder of my little one and I wouldn't have it any other way.
