Bridge Wedding: June 2013

I have had these photos done for a while now, but I wanted to make sure I posted something from this June wedding. Ryan and I kind of stumbled upon this job. We knew the bride and groom. We knew they were looking for someone. They asked us if we knew anyone and I was like: well, you do know we shoot weddings right? The rest is history.

This was the first huge project that I shot when I was pregnant. I was exhausted far beyond how tired I usually am after a wedding. It also took so much longer to edit for me (I still met my deadline) due to the fact that my morning sickness in my first trimester was very much night sickness. Sitting down to edit hundreds of photos isn't very appealing when my house is a billion degrees and my world is a spinning orb of nausea. (Melodramatic much?) At least most of the sickness is long behind me and I was able to deliver a product that we are very proud of.

A few of our favorites....

There are hundreds more. But, these were some of my favorites.

Wedding Bells

Ryan and I shot this wedding in May. Beautiful location, beautiful people.

Day in the Life

My days off are usually far from having actual days off. Generally, I like it that way. I like to get my hands dirty and be productive. Here is a small snapshot of my Friday....

8:00am: Roll out of bed, make some coffee, make some breakfast. This is usually the point where I check my emails for the first of the day, our bank accounts, read a few blogs, and catch up on my favorite decor sites.

8:45am: Write my Morning Pages. These are an important part of my everyday routine, they are based out The Artist's Way. They have changed my life. Seriously. This is where I map out my day and my current goals.

9:30am: Yoga or some other cardio workout. It's good for my soul.

10:30am: I get ready....in one long, continuous stream of motion. Shower, make up, hair, pick up the house, do the dishes, fold some laundry, read some more blogs.

11:30am: Get ready for a photo shoot. On this specific day I was off to do some real estate photography.

My parents are selling their house. Bittersweet.

1:00pm: Meet a friend for coffee. My favorite.

2:00pm: Swimsuit shopping. (Cue horror music!) Actually this time around was just about the easiest swimming suit shopping excursion known to man kind.

3:00pm: Plant myself down at the computer once again and edit, edit, edit, edit, edit.

5:30pm: Work on the garden...or what's there of it anyways.

6:00pm: Cook dinner. Wait for my man to come home from work.

8:00pm: Drinks with friends. Good music. Good times.

A perfect friday.

Writer's Block Pt One

Writer's Block Pt Two

#9!

We made it home from our wonderful vacation on Sunday night, after two days of my lovely husband driving us all the way back to Fort Collins. (He's awesome like that.)

Now, reality has hit. My to-do list is forever growing. Part of me embraces it and the other part wants to run for cover. I realize more and more how un-spontaneous I am in many things in life. Routine sometimes is my biggest downfall, yet also sometimes my biggest triumph. I grasp on to all of the lists and all of the goals. Yet, sometimes you just have to get in the car and drive without a destination in mind and be alright with that.

I wish I had an easier time figuring out how to dwell  in between the chaos and the control. It's a constant lesson.

Currently, I'm editing photos like a mad women for our friend's wedding that I shot before we left on our trip. I couldn't bring my editing stuff with me so these photos were left in Fort Collins and seemed to call me back to them the whole trip. Now I will edit, edit, edit, edit, edit...

A bit of a sneak peak.... (I won't post photos of the actually wedding party, etc until I have full permission from them...)

Photography makes me feel so alive.

On another note, I can mark something off of my 25 Things Before 25 list! This one came around A LOT quicker than I thought it would and I didn't even spark the conversation this time.

9. Have the Baby Talk!

Ryan and I have decided when we will start trying to have a family. I realize that God is ultimately in control of all of that and we are constantly willing to go His route verses ours, but we have set a tentative time period that will allow us to somewhat financially prepare and allow me to get my body and health in tip top, baby making condition.

It's almost weird to even talk about it! For so long I never thought I would get to this point. But, alas, the mama bug has actually bit. Craziness.

Needless to say, I'm excited.

And to our mothers..... I promise it is a plan that will not go into action for quite a while. No babies for us yet! :) But, someday you shall be grandmothers!

Seattle: Day Four (In Black and White)

Little words this evening. Seattle in black and white.

When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs.  When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence.
