Baby Sullivan | The Nursery

The nursery is finally pretty much ready. I'm pretty proud of us choosing to paint these walls light green for Marin when she was a little babe. It made the transition to having a boy so much easier. Here is how the nursery looked for Marin.  Lots of black and white, with green accents. 

When we found out we were having a little boy this time around, I knew that I wanted there to be lots of dinosaurs. This nursery was based solely on the Crib Sheets and curtains I found on Amazon. We kind of branched out from there. 

The cradle on the side of our crib was one that I slept in when I was a baby. We might move it into our bedroom for a while, but for now, it's the stuffed animal hangout. 

This garland was a decoration at the baby shower. It now hangs by the books. 

I spent many hours nursing Marin in this rocker and I know I will be spending a lot of time here once more. We have had a lot of late nights and early morning rocking in this chair. 

My mother crocheted this awesome blanket. 

Now we wait for his arrival. I love how this room turned out.

The Hollen Home | Christmas Decor 2016

It's no secret that I love decorating my house, especially for the holidays. I get the itch as Thanksgiving is upon us and I try to wait until after that holiday to begin another. This year, I didn't, again. 

I will admit to one thing though this year....my decor is literally exactly the same as last year. The only difference is the wrapping paper. We have a toddler. I was tired. I liked our stuff last year. So, this will look pretty similar. 

Marin was given a little tree for her room from the Great Grandparents. She is obsessed with it and sleeps with it on every night. 

The nutcracker is new. Marin is finally warming up to him but still isn't quite sure about this guy yet. 

Someday we will have a house with a fireplace mantle. Until that day comes, I have my piano for things like that. 

Marin made these gingerbread men at school. I think they are awesome. 

I would love to keep our Christmas lights up year round. The glow of our living room is my favorite thing.

Currently Clicking: Week #18

Each and every week, I gather links of all of the places I have been perusing in the great, grand internet. There are plenty of people out there doing big things and small things. Some of these are practical, some are inspiring. This week, my FITBIT obsession continues, house tours and before & after photos have me pinning way too much on pinterest, Tiny Houses still are grabbing my interest, a good face scrub is something I need in my life, photographs of motherhood make me realize that the journey I'm on as a mother is awesome, and grilled pizza, because why not? 

1. These are a tad out of my price range, obviously, but I'm not the biggest fan of the rubber FITBIT wrist band that comes with the FITBIT. Something more stylist would be so awesome! Check out Tony Birch for FITBIT. 
2. This house tour. I realized that I kept pinning images on Pinterest of this house. I love it. 
3. To continue on with my Tiny House obsession, here is some Eye Candy of Small Spaces. I think what resonates for me is the idea of having so much less stuff. We have too much stuff. I need to take a few weeks off and just clean out my house. With a baby in tow. Which sounds so realistic. (add sarcasm here.) 
4. I am always looking for more natural ways to take care of my skin. It is technically the biggest organ on your body. I'm not always as nice to it as I should be. Try this Coconut Nut Oil and Sea Salt Scrub. Add some essential oils and I think this would be wonderful. 
5. I love a good before and after photo, no matter what it is for: weightless, home design. Here are 20 Crazy Before & Afters To Make Your Jaw Drop. These make me want to rip out a few walls and break out the paint cans. 
6. This has been floating all over the internet lately but I think it's so powerful. Long lost photos show how motherhood hasn't changed that much in the last 50 years. These photos are so powerful. 
7. It's no secret that we are serious pizza lovers in our home. I do believe we would eat it every day if we could and if our waist lines would allow. Keep dreaming ton that one. But, this Corn Tomato Shisito Pepper Pizza looks great and you grill it! We need to try this whole grilling pizza thing. 

Weekly Lovelies: Currently Clicking #8

Every week, I gather links of all of the places I have been perusing in the great, grand internet. I like these posts. I can go back and see what I was obsessing over for the week. This week it's parenting & friendship, getting out of debt, a new e-course, anything that has to do with decorating our home, brunch recipes, and a new album that you should buy. 1. Once We Become Parents We Don't Want To Hang Out With You Anymore (But Not For Reasons You Think). I relate to all of this. Having kids pretty much changes everything. 
2. This blog. She is so encouraging when it comes to managing finances, getting out of debt, and living more frugal, intentional lives. 
3. I just purchased this class and I'm super stoked. The team at A Beautiful Mess have done it again. I took their first Blog Love class and loved it. 
4. How To Have A Hipster Home. I hate to admit that I am guilty of many of these....
5. For some reason I have brunch on the brain. I love this, this, and everything in this post. 
6. Some awesome friends just released their new record. Gleemer is a top notch band that you should be listening to. Get their record here. 

Baby Marin's Nursery

Everything is as ready as it will ever be. We are still waiting ever so patiently for our little nugget to come into this world. 

I officially had my last day in the office (for a while) yesterday afternoon. Walking out the doors was a little surreal. I've never had this much extended time away from my place of employment. My 5 year anniversary at the dental office is actually this Sunday. Time has flown by. A lot has happened in the past 5 years and now we wait for the arrival of our first child. I started working there a bit after we were engaged, then we were married, and now we are waiting to become parents. 

The nursery came together better than I had envisioned. What once was an office and then a bedroom for a roommate and then a workout room, now has transformed into our little girl's room.

Christmas 2012

I have been silent for over a month. December was busy. My grandfather was in and out of the hospital for weeks. Life got away from all of us. But, in the end, we got to spend it all together as a family and for that I am so thankful. 

Christmas Eve was spent at Ryan's parents house. We began our evening doing music for our church service at Timberline Old Town. Once all of our equipment was packed up, we headed to his parent's house for chili and cinnamon rolls from Silver Grill. Holy cow. Those things were as big as my face and I'm not complaining one bit about that. 

On Christmas Day, we awoke to more snow on the ground. It began snowing the night before. It was definitely a White Christmas this year. 

 Our next stop was the hospital to visit my grandfather. He has been in and out of the hospital for a while now and wasn't able to spend Christmas at home. So, we went to him. Ryan even played a song he wrote for Christmas in the hospital for my grandfather. 

Next stop...my parent's house. We ate snacks and opened gifts. It was very relaxing and wonderful. 

I'm quite obsessed with my new boots. 

 Then we were off to my Aunt and Uncles house for some of the best prime rib ever. I ate way too much this past month. 

A few days later, we went to my Grandparent's home to spend Christmas with them. My grandpa is finally home. It was so good to spend that time together with them and my family. 

I can't believe I type this as the end of 2012 is only a few hours away. This year has been a whirlwind of events and I am very thankful for all of it.
