30 Things Before 30

Every year, I make a list of things that I want to accomplish by my next birthday. Here's to a new year and a new list. Some of these are big and seem lofty, some are fairly easy to accomplish. Check back every once in a while. I will have a tab at the top of this blog. If I mark something off, I usually will have a link with it. This year, I had too many things on my list which usually doesn't happen. I guess I'm ready to ring in 30 next summer with a bang. Let's do this.
  1. Read 30 books. With my love for the library now, this should be easy.
  2. 30 Recipes, meal plan for dinner.
  3. Try Blue Apron or something like it.
  4. Go on a family vacation.
  5. Work on getting through Baby Step #2 (Dave Ramsey.)
  6. Paint living room and hallways. Repaint kitchen cabinets. Paint trim and doors white. Lots of painting. Pretty much paint the entire inside of our house.
  7. Try Cize.
  8. Do another Whole 30.
  9. Get prego, round 2.
  10. Yoga Headstand
  11. Work through this book.
  12. Reach my goal weight and keep moving (30 minutes, 10,000 steps, or C25k per day)
  13. Have a meal at The Kitchen.
  14. Get a facial at She She.
  15. Take family photos
  16. Create some physical photo albums, not digital.
  17. Be able to park the Dodge Journey in the garage. i.e....Clean it out! Dump trip.
  18. Increase our income. Make it happen.
  19. Potty Train Marin.
  20. Spend a lot more time outside.
  21. Write some songs.
  22. Breakup with online shopping and go thrifting more often.
  23. Join a CSA or Bountiful Baskets. Buy veggies/fruits from a roadside stand.
  24. Drink more wine.
  25. Get a blowout at a salon.
  26. Help Marin not be such a picky eater. Expand her palate.
  27. Capsule Wardrobe or Project 333
  28. Go to a concert at Red Rocks.
  29. Eat like a French Woman.
  30. Paint the outside of our house.

Goals for June

My goals for May were fairly well executed, although I did hit a few bumps in the road. Let's recap....

1. Plant Garden: finally done. After many rainy and windy days, the garden is in the ground. I feel like I've accomplished something huge here. My plants lived in pots for far too many days.

2. Train for 5k: Major fail. I managed to get myself a nice concussion about half way through the month and haven't gone for a run at all. Let's try again.

3. Do yoga 3 times a week: I practiced yoga very consistently the first few weeks before I took a nasty fall. I'm back on the horse once more and feel that I conquered this one and hope to continue. Yoga is good to my soul.

4. Bake/Cook something once a week: I did! Being on my new diet, I have an arsenal of hundreds of recipes. My slow cooker and I are becoming best friends. Also, a vegetable steamer is truly the best invention known to mankind.

Banana Oatmeal Bread.

Slow Cooker Vegetable Soup

5. Sign up for Sewing Class: Fail. We are poor. I just didn't have the funding this time around and hope that June will change that. I have a wedding shoot coming up and hopefully a bit of that can go towards taking this class.

Now onto the goals for this new, beautiful month!

1. Read a novel. Treat myself in a book that I can get lost in.

2. Train for 5k and continue to do yoga as much as possible.

3. Organize all closets and cupboards in my house.

4. Sign up for sewing class and reorganize our art room. Make it really usable.

5. Start photography blog. I have some business opportunities coming up. Just got my business cards a few days ago!

Happy June. This month is full of good things: recording the hubby's record, vacation on the beach, wedding photography, etc.

25 Things Before 25 (Continued)

Here is the rest of the list, the remaining 10.....

16. Pay off all of our debt

17. Have date night once a week

18. Paint our kitchen cabinets

19. Go camping

20. Take photos of our house and blog about it

21. Find/Create art for our walls

22. Use my camera weekly, for something other than business

23. Write a new song

24. Go on a drive/hike this fall to see all of the changing colors in the mountains.

25. Do the Couch to 5k challenge (I’m almost scared to write down this one....) Oh boy.

Part of me is so excited to get home so I can start on the list. I can mark one off that occurred yesterday. I'll reveal which one a bit later. Needless to say: I'm excited.

Since I didn't blog yesterday, here are photos from our trip to the Oregon Coast. Oh how I have missed the ocean.

We are off to Portland this afternoon. I can't wait to see that city once again.

    Plans

I have officially done nearly nothing today, aside from a few hours at work and lunch with my grandparents. I followed that quickly with a nap. Sometimes I need days like this. I know that I have a great tendency to over book my schedule and become way too busy for my own good. Between working full time, band practice for multiple different bands, photography on the side, and making sure our house isn't a war zone every night before I go to bed, I tend to get a little tired.

This weekend is a gift from heaven. The only thing we have on our plate is leading worship at church on Sunday. Other than that, I plan on having a weekend to recoup and renew.

The thing that frightens me as I sit here writing this words is that I'm feeling that sudden spring cleaning urge, the one that will probably drive me to levels of insanity and have my husband questioning my well being during the process. I like to be organized, to have a clean home. I also like to rearrange and decorate, to mix things up. Uh-oh. This weekend might involve that.

    This weekend I will:
-Start organizing the house (Da da duh....)
    - Go to Hobby Lobby
-Actually work on Style School Projects. I'm entirely bummed about how I've let my schedule get the best of me. There are so many projects I still need to do and can't wait to do!
    -Read, write, dream
-Prepare for next weekend's crazy show schedule. (ie: Three shows in one day! Yikes!)
-Hopefully see these two movies. :)

    Also...
    I need summer. Bad.

This is our current weather situation=no good.

And, I have a new secret obsession with this show. :) Ha!
