It's the Weekend | Number Five

Phew. This week has been a whirlwind of late nights at work for events. I'm ready to just chill at my house for the day with the kiddo. Nothing too crazy. Come tomorrow, the craziness will begin up again like it always tends to do.

Lately, I've have started to gather links of all of the places I have been perusing in the great, grand internet. There are plenty of people out there doing big things and small things. Some of these are practical, some are inspiring. Some just make me hungry. This week, we have an article on rage cleaning, eating healthier, and not waking up with regret. I also have been reading about podcasts and ways to become a better morning person.

I tend to clean my house a lot. I thought this rage-cleaning mother article was pretty accurate.

I saw these cheat sheets floating around Facebook this past week. I always need ideas for how to eat healthier.

I never want to wake up someday with regret.  These things are important.

Do you listen to podcasts? I do. Here's a primer on how to get started.

I am normally a morning person because of the kiddo. Here's 8 things every person should do before 8am.

I always have a thing for tortellini. Getting my family to eat more broccoli is always a win as well. This Lemon Broccoli Tortellini looks delicious.

Commonwealth and Do the Work: Overcome Resistance and Get Out of Your Own Way just became available for me at the library for my Kindle. Time to get my read on.

Have a great weekend!

It's The Weekend | Number Three

It's no secret that I love to make lists of any kind and then check off the items on each list. Sometimes, I compile lists of things I've seen and read. Sometimes, I create lists of things I would love to do in the future or things I can do now to make our present even more awesome.

Here are a few of those things for your weekend....

We recently bought a rotisserie chicken from Costco and I am pretty obsessed. They are awesome. Here's how to get 4 meals from a rotisserie chicken.

I like the idea of a digital day off once a week. That's super hard for me to do but I think I need to do it.

We are brainstorming a little family trip in April before this baby arrives. We need more family vacations in our lives.  I have great memories from family vacations as a child.

This green goddess lasagna recipe looks delicious.

I am always looking for new books to read. Here's a list of 17 books to read in less than 24 hours.  I have Dark Matter: A Novel and Rules of Civility: A Novel in my queue to read.

I love Trader Joes. Like a lot. Here are some Trader Joes staples.

I've been doing these two workouts this week and I'm loving them:
ONE and TWO.  Marin has been working out with me, which really means she just likes to dance on the yoga mat, but I'll take it. It feels good to workout while pregnant.

Have a great weekend!

Instagram: The Weekend

We have been very blessed lately. My man has had two weekends in a row off. This rarely ever happens in the grand scheme of things. Most of the time our work schedules fall as being completely opposite of each other and most days are spent with me kissing him good bye in the morning while he still sleeps a few more hours. Our nights are usually me going to be stupid early and him crawling in a few hours later. Like ships passing in the night. Hopefully, someday this will change. So, when a weekend presents itself, it's time for us to relax, have a good date night or two, and work on the house.

This Weekend: By Instagram (you can find me: bailyhollen)

I get to one cheat day on my diet each week. Which means one thing: Donuts. I used to not like them, now that's all I want when I get to eat whatever I want. WIth extra sprinkles if possible.
Band Practice. We have a show on Monday. (Which I've decided is a very random day for a gig. It's throwing me off.)
We tried a new pizza place downtown for date night (also on cheat day). Delicious.
My coffee mug at church.
Timberline Oldtown.
BFF.
Me cleaning the house like a mad woman. Listening to Wolfmother as loud as possible.
It has begun. Garden 2012. Let's hope I don't kill it all again.

I love weekends. I don't love that Monday is already tomorrow.

Chili Night

This past weekend, we opened our home to some of our dear, dear friends. We made two massive pots of the infamous Hollen's Family Chili and I'm still eating leftovers as we speak. (Which is not a problem, at all.) It was nice to be able to slow down during this season and just be with some amazing people.

The End
I love how food brings people together.

We need that during this busy season of our lives. To just sit and live. There's a lot swimming through my head and heart lately: dreams for this new year that is upon us, love for those around us, and the unknown that rests somewhere right in front of us. I feel change coming. Good change.

My Weekend, As Seen From My Iphone

This weekend was grand. To top it all off....here is a recap, thanks to my new phone. I don't know how I ever lived without it.

The start of a new tradition that has been in the Hollen's for a long time...BLINKO!

I don't know how well you can tell...but this picture is Ryan's car FULL of music gear. Love it.

Ryan and I played a show at the Taproom. I discovered a love for New Belgium's Frambozen Brew. Yum!

I was in Scene Magazine! :) (It's weird to see photos of me pre-tattoo on my shoulder!)

Ordered this book....drank some chai.

Bought this book for 2 bucks.

Ended up getting these shoes after an endless search for the ones from the previous post. These were cheaper. :)

Ate sushi. It had been FAR TOO LONG!

Ryan signed the receipt for the evening with a very large pen.

Went and saw Danielle Ate the Sandwich, our dear friend and amazing songwriter. She's rad.

Drank lovely coffee.

Band practice today with the Rifleman. I will be playing a show with them on the 27th because their keyboard player is out of town. It will be fun!

And last but not least, I finished wrapping all of the presents for Christmas!

Phew. What a good weekend! :)
